Get your hands dirty while learning the secrets of an ancient art form of bonsai

About this Event

Get ready for Valentines Day and enjoy the outdoors at the Farm at South Mountain with friends or that special someone. Get your hands dirty while learning the secrets of an ancient art form of bonsai. Kokedama originated over 500 years ago out of Japan and is also often referred to as the poor man’s bonsai. Instead of a pot, moss is used as a container for planting. The focus for the upcoming Kokedama Workshop will be on utilizing succulents to create a living piece of art.

Our plant workshops are designed for beginners, so you can relax while your instructor guides you step-by-step answering any questions along the way.

The class includes all materials (moss, bonsai soil, string, succulents) needed to create two beautiful kokedamas to take away. Expert plant care and maintenance will also be covered in the class.
